Copies of police reports are available as follows:
In Person:
Records Bureau hours are 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (except holidays). Please call beforehand to make sure report is complete. Bring exact change as there are no cashier services available.
By Mail:
Send written request, or use below downloadable form. Must include date and location of incident and name(s) of persons involved. Also include a check or money order payable to “Borough of Point Pleasant Beach” and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. (See fees below.) NO reports will be sent via facsimile.
Fees:
$.75 per page for first ten (10) pages
$.50 per page for pages 11-20
$.25 per page for all pages over 20
$5.00 for mailed accident reports
$10.00 for audio or video tape reproduction
Court Discovery:
Requests made through an attorney only. Above fees apply, plus actual postage for mailing packet. When discovery packet is prepared, a statement will be faxed to the attorney advising of the total fee. Once payment is received, the discovery packet will be mailed out.

Note: Portions of the report may be “redacted” (blacked out) by law. The information redacted is sensitive information concerning involved parties, such as social security numbers, dates of birth, and in some cases driver’s license numbers. ALL juvenile information (including names) will be redacted from reports as well.
Note for Motor Vehicle Accidents: In some cases a Police Officer cannot sign a motor vehicle complaint because the officer did not witness the accident. You may sign a complaint within thirty (30) days of the accident. If the crash report involved serious injuries, fatalities, or required addition investigation, the report will take longer to complete.
HANDICAPPED PLACARDS
The application for a Temporary Handicapped Placard can be picked up or mailed to you. Applications must be signed by a medical doctor, podiatrist, or chiropractor and returned to the Records Bureau with a check made payable to “NJ Motor Vehicle Commission” in the amount of $4.00. These temporary permits will be issued only when necessary and when the applicant’s physical condition is not considered permanent. The permit expires six (6) months from issue date and may be extended an additional six (6) months. Permanent Placards can be obtained through NJ Division of Motor Vehicle.
